You can then apply for your certificate of registration and start practicing. The trick is that in each state the pathway is different and regulated by independent industry bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Usually, you will need at least 12 months of full-time work experience under the supervision of a licensed real estate agent, before getting your full licence. Once you have this, you can apply to Access Canberra for registration to work in the industry.\u00a0You will initially work under Conditional Registration, progressing to full registration in around 12 months.<\/p>\n<h4>Queensland Licensing for Real Estate<\/h4>\n<p>Under a <a href=\"https:\/\/ablis.business.gov.au\/service\/qld\/real-estate-agent-licence\/7245\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Estate Licence<\/a> in Queensland, you can carry out all aspects of property sale, letting and management except auctioning. \u00a0This covers you for residential and business property including rural, livestock, apartment complexes and vacant land.\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reiq.com\/training\/real-estate-licence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REIQ<\/a> is a good place to start when looking for training opportunities.<\/p>\n<h4>Real Estate Registration in South Australia<\/h4>\n<p>In South Australia, <a href=\"https:\/\/ablis.business.gov.au\/service\/sa\/land-agents-registration-company\/713\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Land Agent Registration<\/a> is required if you want to work as a land agent or real estate agent.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/entryeducation.edu.au\/courses\/south-australia-courses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Entry<\/a> to the profession requires the completion of a Sales Representative Registration or a Land Agent course.<\/p>\n<h4>Tasmanian Licence for Real Estate<\/h4>\n<p>Those seeking to enter a real estate profession in Tasmania will need a <a href=\"https:\/\/ablis.business.gov.au\/service\/tas\/real-estate-agent-licence\/7369\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Estate Agent Licence.<\/a> This can only be obtained by gaining a <a href=\"https:\/\/reit.com.au\/Training\/Diploma-of-Property-Agency-Management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diploma of Property<\/a> through a registered training organisation, and completing two years of full-time experience as a property manager or property representative.<\/p>\n<h4>Northern Territory Licencing<\/h4>\n<p>In the Northern Territory, a <a href=\"https:\/\/ablis.business.gov.au\/service\/nt\/real-estate-agents-licence\/3264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Estate Agent Licence<\/a> is required to start your career in real estate. You can apply for a restricted licence in one of two areas \u2013 sales functions, or property management functions.\u00a0You can find information about acquiring a Diploma of Property (Agency Management) or Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reint.com.au\/careers\/courses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REINT\u00a0<\/a> \u2013 the major industry body for Real Estate in the Northern Territory.<\/p>\n<h4>Western Australia<\/h4>\n<p>To operate as a real estate agent in Western Australia, you will need to acquire an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commerce.wa.gov.au\/consumer-protection\/individual-agent-or-business-agent-licence-real-estate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Individual Agent or Business Agent Licence<\/a> and hold a current triennial certificate. Usually, a Diploma in Property will be required.
